Nifty settles above 7100: Stock Market Closing News Updates

The BSE Sensex opened at 23,237, touched an intra-day high of 23,434 and low of 22,924. It finally ended with a gain of 190 points at 23, 382.

The NSE Nifty opened at 7,059 hitting a high of 7,117 and low of 6,961, before ending with a gain of 60 points at 7,108.


The India VIX (Volatility) index was down 6.45% to 21.5525. In broader market with the benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and smallcap indices closed up by 0.66% and 0.47%, respectively.

Bank of Baroda, Adani Ports, Dr.Reddy's, Vedanta, BPCL, Sun Pharmaceuticals and BPCL were among the gainers on NSE, whereas ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Coal India, Lupin, Cipla, M&M, IndusInd Bank and UltraTech Cement were among the losers today.

Out of 1,783 stocks traded on the NSE, 825 declined and 711 advanced today.

Nifty cracks below 7,000: Stock Market Opening Trend

S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 23,045 down 146 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,005 down 43 points. 

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.82% at 9,627, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.40% at 9,743.
All sectors are showing weakness on BSE.
