The rupee today rose by five paise to 54.76 against the dollar in early trade,The rupee had lost eight paise to close at an over 1-month low of 54.81 against the dollar yesterday. Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose by 158.19 points, or 0.80 percent, to 19,880.48.
