  •  The market has opened flat on Tuesday with the Nifty holding 8600. The 50-share index is down 1.90 points at 8633.75 and the Sensex is up 25.61 points at 28120.95. About 264 shares have advanced, 75 shares declined, and 21 shares are unchanged. 
  • GAIL, Cipla, Tata Steel, BHEL and ONGC are top gainers while HDFC, Lupin, ICICI Bank, Dr Reddy's and Axis Bank are losers in the Sensex.
  • The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 67.41 per dollar against previous close 67.35.
  •  The Nifty50 was trading above its crucial level of 8,600 supported by gains in realty, power, oil & gas, metal, consumer durable, and telecom stocks. 
  • Low cotton prices, energy costs boosted Q1 margins: KG Denim KG Denim reported a strong first quarter with margins improving to 15.2 percent and net profit rising to Rs 9.3 crore as against Rs 1.6 crore year-on-year. Lower cotton prices and better energy costs aided margin expansion in the first quarter of FY17, says B Sriramulu, Managing Director of KG Denim.   •  Essar expands capacity at Hazira Port with Rs 800cr investment The company is investing Rs 800 crore to add 20 MMPTA at its Hazira Port in Surat to its existing 30 MMTPA capacity, Essar Ports Chief Executive Officer Rajiv Agarwal told reporters here.

Indian Stock Market Today's Offer

     The market has opened marginally in green. The Sensex is up 39.87 points or 0.1 percent at 27786.53, and the Nifty is down 1.05 points at 8507.65. About 212 shares have advanced, 79 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged.
          Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, TCS, HDFC and Tata Steel are gainers in the Sensex. HUL loses over 2 percent while Bharti, Wipro, BHEL and Adani Ports are losers. Mindtree falls 6 percent on its Q1 results.
           Drug firm Dr Reddy's Laboratories has launched generic Omeprazole and Sodium bicarbonate capsules, used for treatment of acid reflux and ulcers, in the US market after receiving approval from the      country's health regulator.

Shree Cement today said it has won the bid for coal linkages from state-run Coal India subsidiary, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL), for 80,000 tonnes annually.
              Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) today said it has raised Rs 1,000 crore by alloting Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) on private placement basis.
               Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) continued its grip in the passenger vehicles market in India with five of its models in the top ten best selling models in June, although its successful model Swift has been displaced from the third position by rival Hyundai's Grand i10.

SEBI Steps Up L'affaire Mallya Probe; to Seek Overseas Help


The market has opened at new 2016 high while the midcap index is at 11-month high. The Sensex is up 368.52 points or 1.4 percent at 27495.42, and the Nifty is up 104.45 points or 1.2 percent at 8427.65.       ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Motors, Bharti and L&T are top gainers. The Indian rupee gained in the early trade. It has opened higher by 24 paise at 67.12 per dollar versus 67.36 Friday.
      Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will invite investments in ports, ship building and coastal economics zones during his week long visit to the US. "Indo-US cooperation in the vital infrastructure sector will get a new impetus when (the minister) holds official talks with his counter-part US Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx in Washington today, on a wide range of projects of mutual interest", an official statement said.
           In mounting troubles for embattled Vijay Mallya, markets regulator Sebi has stepped up its probe into alleged fund diversion from his erstwhile listed group firms to other entities, including some abroad and his various sport ventures. With the latest disclosures taking total suspected fund diversion at United Spirits alone to over Rs 2,500 crore, Sebi is also referring to the matter for further action by other agencies including SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office) under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, a top official said.
          Private sector HDFC Bank plans to focus on digital platforms in rural and semi-urban markets to achieve sustained growth in the coming years.
       The Gujarat government is conducting a social impact assessment for acquisition of about 33 hectares of land in three villages of Vadodara for the expansion of Indian Oil Corporation 's refinery here.

Nifty, Sensex Under Pressure; Lupin, Tata Steel Most Active


The market has started off last day of the week on a flat note. The Sensex fell 2.35 points to 27199.14 and the Nifty declined 2.40 points to 8335.50. For more information visit www.marketmagnify.com/stock-option.php    
       Lupin and Tata Motors were top gainers in early trade, up 2 percent each followed by Sun Pharma, BHEL, Hero MotoCorp and Aurobindo Pharma while Tata Steel, ITC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Idea Cellular and Bharti Infratel were losers.         
        Asian markets were trading lower with the Shanghai, Hang Seng and Nikkei falling 0.5-1 percent as oil declined Thursday and ahead of US payroll data due today.Equity benchmarks extended sell-off with the Nifty breaching 8300 level for the first time in last five sessions. The Sensex fell 108.71 points to 27092.78 and the Nifty declined 33.50 points to 8304.40.
        The market breadth was weak as about 839 shares declined against 653 advancing shares on BSE.
       Tata Steel 's board is expected to meet today to discuss sale of its UK assets. Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that the steel major is likely to hold asset sale as of now. If the deal does not go through, some pressure will be seen on the stock in near-term, says Tarang Bhanushali of IIFL who has a reduced rating on Tata Steel. In case of no deal, the target price for the stock is Rs 305. 
          Biocon Ltd has informed BSE that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company will be held on July 21, 2016, inter alia, to approve the un-audited financial results for the quarter ended on June 30, 2016 (Q1).The Company will organize a conference call for analysts and investors on July 22, 2016.      The Indian rupee opened lower by 6 paise at 67.33 per dollar against previous close 67.27.
  HSBC has raised its rating on India to ‘overweight’ from the earlier ‘neutral’ and upped its Sensex target to 28,500 from 26,000 for this year-end. Domestic market is picking up in India and earnings expectations of 12 percent are more realistic, says Herald Van Der Linde of HSBC.
     Motilal Oswal has upgraded M&M to buy from neutral with a target of Rs 1724 per share, indicating an 18 percent upside. Betting big on strong earnings cycle ahead the brokerage firm is confident that monsoon and recent launches will drive its growth.
    The boards of Jaiprakash Associates and UltraTech Cement on Monday agreed on the long due agreement regarding the sale of JP's cement business to the latter. The total deal size of Rs 16,189 crore, agreed upon now is slightly more that Rs 15,900 crore pegged in the March agreement.
    Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra today reported an 8 percent rise in total sales to 39,011 units in June. The company had sold 36,134 units in the same month last year.
    Adani Ports may see a good breakout after a consolidation and can climb to around Rs 226. Keep stop loss of Rs 207.
     Sun Pharma is in a pause mode before a climb to around Rs 790. Keep a stop loss at Rs 760.

Sebi Directs Religare's Art Fund to Refund Investors Money



The market opened in green riding high on positive global markets. The Sensex is up 140.51 points or 0.5 percent at 26665.97, and the Nifty up 35.90 points or 0.4 percent at 8176.65.          Govt must replace expiring MIP with anti-dumping duty: Experts
     On February 5, the government imposed minimum import prices (MIP) on steel products for a period of six months in a bid to stop the deluge of cheap imports.
J&K wants protection of its special taxation powers under  GST Giving this information to the Assembly, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu said the draft GST bill circulated by the Centre has not incorporated any safeguards to protect J&K's special taxation powers.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) also warned of further action, including barring Religare Arts Investment Management Ltd from securities markets if it fails to comply with the orders for winding up of all its collective investment scheme (CIS) activities and refund the money to investors with due returns.

Crude oil Nymex holds above the 49 mark after jumping over 2 percent yesterday. Gold prices trade around 1240 USD an ounce.
     In morning trade, Asia stocks traded mixed with the Japanese benchmark index giving up initial gains as the yen nudged higher against the dollar.
      
   The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will hold its third bimonthly money policy review of the year on Tuesday.
