        The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 66.88 per dollar on Friday versus previous close of 66.91.

          Tata Consultancy Services on Thursday reported a better-than-expected profit and operational performance in April-June quarter. While revenue was in-line, profit fell 0.36 percent sequentially to Rs 6,318 crore in Q1 but that was supported by better operational numbers.

SEBI Steps Up L'affaire Mallya Probe; to Seek Overseas Help


The market has opened at new 2016 high while the midcap index is at 11-month high. The Sensex is up 368.52 points or 1.4 percent at 27495.42, and the Nifty is up 104.45 points or 1.2 percent at 8427.65.       ICICI Bank, BHEL, Tata Motors, Bharti and L&T are top gainers. The Indian rupee gained in the early trade. It has opened higher by 24 paise at 67.12 per dollar versus 67.36 Friday.
      Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will invite investments in ports, ship building and coastal economics zones during his week long visit to the US. "Indo-US cooperation in the vital infrastructure sector will get a new impetus when (the minister) holds official talks with his counter-part US Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx in Washington today, on a wide range of projects of mutual interest", an official statement said.
           In mounting troubles for embattled Vijay Mallya, markets regulator Sebi has stepped up its probe into alleged fund diversion from his erstwhile listed group firms to other entities, including some abroad and his various sport ventures. With the latest disclosures taking total suspected fund diversion at United Spirits alone to over Rs 2,500 crore, Sebi is also referring to the matter for further action by other agencies including SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office) under the Corporate Affairs Ministry, a top official said.
          Private sector HDFC Bank plans to focus on digital platforms in rural and semi-urban markets to achieve sustained growth in the coming years.
       The Gujarat government is conducting a social impact assessment for acquisition of about 33 hectares of land in three villages of Vadodara for the expansion of Indian Oil Corporation 's refinery here.

Sebi Directs Religare's Art Fund to Refund Investors Money



The market opened in green riding high on positive global markets. The Sensex is up 140.51 points or 0.5 percent at 26665.97, and the Nifty up 35.90 points or 0.4 percent at 8176.65.      The market has opened in red on Thursday. The Sensex is down 75.70 points or 0.3 percent at 26944.96, and the Nifty is down 19.45 points or 0.2 percent at 8253.60. About 474 shares have advanced, 241 shares declined, and 34 shares are unchanged.
       ONGC, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Reliance and Tata Motors are gainers while Lupin, Infosys, Dr Reddy's, Asian Paints and HUL are losers in the Sensex.

         Tata Group entities, including Tata Sons, Jaguar Land Rover and TCS , will provide a funding of 5.6 million pounds (around Rs 56 crore) to the Royal Society's University Research Fellowships (URF) scheme   in the UK.
       Expect rupee to appreciate marginally due to increase in capital flows and trade in the range of 66.50- 66.75/dollar, says Ashutosh Khajuria of Federal Bank.
           Analysing HUL's annual report, CLSA says that despite a 49 percent annual rise in capex, free cash flow (FCF) increased 16 percent. As per its estimates, HUL may see over 20 percent CAGR in FCF in FY16-19.
          UB Pravin Rao, COO, Infosys is confident on achieving FY17 revenue growth guidance of 11.5-13.5 percent for next few years.

   The Sensex is up 91 points or 0.3 percent at 27100.67. About 305 shares have advanced, 114 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged.
       Bharti Airtel, HDFC, L&T, Cipla and Adani Ports are gainers while GAIL, HUL, BHEL, Asian Paints and TCS are losers in the Sensex.
      The Indian rupee opened flat at 66.78 per dollar against previous close of 66.77.
           Bharti Airtel, ONGC, L&T, Tata Motors, ITC, HDFC, Cipla and M&M are among the gainers, whereas Asian       Paints, SBI, Bajaj-Auto, Infosys, TCS, Maruti Suzuki and ICICI Bank are losing sheen on BSE.
           Asian markets are mixed with China's Shanghai Composite down 0.74%. Japan's Nikkei and Hang Seng are marginally down. The S&P 500 ended at its best level since July led by a big jump in energy shares. The Dow Jones ended up 17.95 points, or 0.1%, while the S&P 500 gained 2.72 points, or 0.13%.The Nasdaq Composite dipped 6.96 points, or 0.14%.
        Rupee is the top outperformer among the Asian currencies, Japanese brokerage firm Nomura said.

    The Indian rupee opened higher by 6 paise at 66.90 per dollar on Tuesday against previous close of 66.96.
Crude oil Nymex holds above the 49 mark after jumping over 2 percent yesterday. Gold prices trade around 1240 USD an ounce.
     In morning trade, Asia stocks traded mixed with the Japanese benchmark index giving up initial gains as the yen nudged higher against the dollar.
      
   The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will hold its third bimonthly money policy review of the year on Tuesday.

The market gained some strength after opening flat. The Sensex rose 74.30 points to 25412.88 and the Nifty reclaimed 7750 level, up 18 points to 7753.20. 

Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Infosys, Vedanta, Tata Power and UltraTech Cement were early gainers while ONGC, Adani Ports, Coal India, HDFC, SBI, Idea Cellular and PNB were losers.  

The Indian rupee has opened marginally higher at 66.35 per dollar today against previous close of 66.37.

Asian markets were trading mixed while Wall Street and European markets closed higher yesterday.
