Biggest challenge is attracting Indian users to
4G: Idea
Idea Cellular has chosen 1800 Mhz to launch 4G spectrum, and the company's
managing director Himanshu Kapania says growth and adoption of 4G depends on
coverage, spectrum band and affordability.
India's third-biggest mobile phone operator Idea Cellular launched
fourth-generation (4G) mobile phone services across South India on Wednesday.
The company hopes to cover all towns and cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka,
Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana by March 2016.
Bharti Airtel was the first telecom company to launch 4G services in India. It
launched the services at 3G prices in 296 Indian cities and towns in
mid-August.
Idea Cellular stock price
On December 24, 2015, at 09:22 hrs Idea Cellular was quoting at Rs 141.65, up
Rs 1.95, or 1.40 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 203.90 and the
52-week low was Rs 124.35.
The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 8.39 per share as per the
quarter ended September 2015. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was
16.88. The latest book value of the company is Rs 60.81 per share. At current
value, the price-to-book value of the company is 2.33.
