Nifty below 7,850: Indian Stock Market Updates with Closing Bell

Sensex down 200 points, Nifty below 7,850; Tata Steel down 5%, Vedanta down 4% 

The S&P BSE Sensex was trading lower by 200 points on Tuesday following muted trends in Asian and European markets .The 50-share NSE Nifty index was trading below its crucial psychological level of 7,850.

The S&P BSE Midcap index was down 0.6 per cent while the BSE Smallcap index was lower by 0.4 per cent.

The BSE Metal and BSE Capital Goods indices were the top sectoral losers, shedding 1.85 and 1.6 per cent, respectively. 

 

Top Gainers: HINDUSTAN UNILEVERBSE 1.15 % (1.4%), SUN PHARMABSE 1.11 % (1.1%), ITCBSE 1.09 % (1.1%), NTPCBSE 0.68 % (0.8%), RELIANCE INDUSTRIES (0.6%)

Top Losers: TATA STEEL (4.6%), VEDANTA (3.7%), TATA MOTORS (3.3%), HINDALCO (2.5%), L&T (2.5%)
